He is the eldest of eight children of Hussein Mohmoud Suge, a retired accountant, and Luul Mohamed Farah, a saleswoman.
Ismail was in Mogadisho before the collapse of Somali Military government of which father Hussein was working for one of Somali’s main banks in the capitol city.
However, during mid 1990s as the civil war broke out the Suge family moved to Borama town of northern provinces of then self appointed Somaliland.
During this time life was very hard and tough on every Somali living inside or outside the country, and for Suge family shared their part of what was affecting all Somali families as they moved one place to another in search of safety and employment.
Of those times, the family moved to Jig-jiga town Ethiopia after father Hussein got employed in an independent agency known as SEERPi.
However, Ismail attended his primary education in Borama and then Jig-jiga where the family lived until 1994 when moved back to Borama following Mr. Hussein’s employment at Awdal Customs Department.
In the year 1996, Ismail Suge got educational transfer from Hawa-Tako Elementary and Intermediate School to then Sh. Ali Jowhar Intermediate School
And September 1999 marked his first attendance of Al-Aqsa Secondary School where he spent the next four years until he graduated in October 2004 when Somaliland National Secondary Examination Board (SNSEB) of the ministry of Somaliland Education granted him a high school certificate.
